Tamers
Tamers are individuals with the unique ability to wield Capture Energy, a soul-derived force that allows them to bond with and capture the creatures known as Kaimon. Not everyone in the world can become a Tamer; this ability is randomly manifested and highly valued among those who possess it. While some Tamers are renowned for their capture prowess, others forge new paths as skilled Ranchers, trainers, or adventurers.
Becoming a Tamer
Every person has the potential to become a Tamer, though only once they can manifest Capture Energy. Capture Energy, drawn from the soul, connects a Tamer with Kaimon by bridging their spiritual essences. This bond is more than just practical; it is a core aspect of Tamer culture and tradition across the regions of Leeore and other Domains.
- Manifesting Capture Energy: This energy is typically brought forth by crushing specially designed Capture Spheres, each imbued with unique properties that can influence the Tamer’s success. Some exceptionally skilled Tamers have even learned to summon Capture Energy without these Spheres, though this is exceedingly rare.
Unlocking Capture Energy
There is no sure-known way to unlock and manifest Capture Energy yet - though some researchers are interested in understanding how. Along with some who practice Capture Techniques.
Tamers Throughout Domains
Tamers seem to coexist with Kaimon in differing ways throughout Domains.
Leeore
Tamers can rise in rank as they master their abilities and build bonds with Kaimon. In the region of Leeore, Tamers strive to become Taming Masters—elite experts recognized for their advanced skills. To become a Taming Master, a Tamer must demonstrate proficiency in some form of field as a Kaimon Tamer, whether as a successful Rancher, helping the Rangers or even finding great treasures. Masters enjoy the support of Leeore's government, receiving stipends for personal pursuits and gaining access to exclusive areas of Leeore.
Norvent
Not much is known yet about this domain. Tamers may embody a more physical approach, imbuing themselves with Capture Energy to channel the strength of their Kaimon, fighting alongside them in direct combat.
Capture Energy & Techniques
Capture Energy is essential to a Tamer's abilities and has no harmful side effects for the user. It functions solely as a means to bond with Kaimon and exists in various forms, shaped by the creativity of each Tamer. For instance, Capture Energy might appear as a swirling tornado, an ethereal hand, or a wave of light.
- Techniques: Tamers can develop unique Capture Techniques that increase their bond strength with specific Kaimon species or types. Advanced techniques are often passed down through mentorship or self-discovery.
- Strength: The effectiveness of Capture Energy is influenced by the Tamer's experience and the quality of their Capture Sphere. The strongest Tamers are those with years of experience and highly specialized Spheres.
- Restrictions: Tamers may only control one form of Capture Energy at a time, though there are no limits or cooldowns to its use. Some ancient techniques allow for the capture of rare or particularly powerful Kaimon and can be taught to others.
Capturing isn’t always straightforward: if a Kaimon resists a Tamer’s energy or feels incompatible, the capture may fail. A Tamer’s success depends on their experience, skill, and ability to read and respond to the Kaimon’s unique nature.
A tamer is able to then send out a Kaimon that they've captured, using the same Capture Energy stored up to send out in a ball of energy. They're only able to have 6 Kaimon at a time in their party, but can cycle through Kaimon they've stored away.
